MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER:
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. We are coming up on the New Year and with that I hope you will come back to work with bigger hopes and dreams for the Cherokee Boys Club. We are partnering with Chief Strategy Group to guide us into a direction of structure and success. I want you all to be a part of that. I want your ideas and visions to help us bring the Cherokee Boys Club back to what it once was. We can make this place thrive, but I need your help to do that. I would like to take a moment to recognize all the employees who were awarded years of service awards this year and say thank you for being a part of this wonderful organization for as long as you have been. I appreciate you all and hope you stay for another 30 years!

I was able to attend just about every department Christmas celebration and that was very enjoyable. I want you all to know that I am here for you and anything you may need. My door is always open. COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT NEWS:
The Construction Department�s Housing Improvement Program has been working in collaboration with the Cherokee Preservation Foundation on their Veterans� Project. The Veteran�s Project is new this year. It is a project that is like the Day of Caring where the CPF identifies deserving recipients for some much-needed improvements to their home and or living conditions. Where the Day of Caring has one or more recipients from each community, the Veterans Project will pick one deserving Veteran from the boundary annually. This year we had one enrolled Tribal Veteran whose home needed improvements. The recipient�s project needs exceeded the limit of the Veteran�s project funding; therefore, we were able to combine HIP funds and work force along with CPF funding. This project thus far has been a huge success in bringing two tribal entities together to work on one very meaningful project. The combined funding, contracted work and volunteer work will hopefully be an example of how to cooperate with other tribal entities in the future. It has been very rewarding for our department to work on a project that serves to improve the living conditions of someone who served our country. Especially as we celebrated Veterans Day last month.
We are thankful that the Preservation Foundation chose the Boys Club to be their partner for this project and we look forward to working with them again next year.
A MESSAGE FROM HUMAN RESOURCES:
Any changes that you may have made during Open Enrollment will take effect January 1, 2019. Your new insurance cards have been sent out to the address you provided, and you should begin receiving them sometime next week. Also, be aware that you will not receive a new Community Eye Care card. IF you need a new one please contact Tiffani Reed and she will get you a copy of your current one.
NEW FACES & NEW PLACES:
Some personnel changes have happened within the Boys Club. Aaron Bradley is now the Assistant Manager of the Bus and Truck Department. June Wolfe is Interim Manager of the Bus and Truck Department. Beth Grant is now the Executive Assistant to the General Manager. Stacey Hornbuckle is now the Administrative Assistant at the Cherokee Children�s Home. Jackie Bradley is now the Accounts Payable Clerk. Stop by and see them in their new settings!
CHILDREN�S HOME NEWS:
The Children�s Home would like to welcome Stacey Hornbuckle on-board as the Administrative Assistant. Stacey joins them from the Administration Department. They would also like to congratulate Chad Swayney on his 20 years of Service to the Cherokee Boys Club.
The Administration would like to thank the community for the gestures, contributions, sponsorships, and kind words they have all received all year long and especially during the holiday season. May you be richly blessed for all your generosity.

Please remember the Boys Club�s Shop/Fuel Department for your heating fuel needs! Contact Thomas Smith at 359-5590 or Colene Ross at 359-5592 to schedule a delivery. Ask about payroll deduction if you are a Boys Club or School employee (certain rules do apply)!
